We are looking for a New York-licensed bankruptcy attorney to work with us on an of-counsel basis to help with individual bankruptcies, business bankruptcies, or both, depending on the attorney's familiarity. We would like our of counsel to review bankruptcy petitions before we file them, consult with our paralegals and other attorneys, as necessary, draft pleadings in adversary proceedings, and if possible, handle oral argument. However, if you can only do one or the other - drafting or oral argument - due to work circumstances, let us know, and we may be able to make something work depending on who else applies. Pay is $70/hr. Flat rate: $100 to attend 341's and other standard meetings virtually; $300 if you have to attend standard meetings in person. Maybe 2 to 10 hours per month now, can increase depending on the scope of the work you can accept, the level of trust between us, and, of course, your availability. You must have the equivalent of 5 years of full-time bankruptcy experience. This is not a junior position, this is a position for someone the firm will rely on for their knowledge, skill, and expertise.
